I arrived at the shop before 5am and the harbor was jam packed with boats, trailers and cars absolutely everywhere.  Haven't seen anything like this in years!  So much excitement to get a chance to fish for salmon again.  It sounds like everyone out of Half Moon Bay was rewarded with their two salmon per person limits, including the Queen of Hearts which returned with 46 gorgeous fish for 23 people, with several real nice fish in the mix.  If the action for Sunday is like it was today, the quota of 7,000 fish allowed might be a done deal.  We'll have to wait until CDFW tallies the counts to see if the season will continue the first weekend in July.  As soon as we receive any news, we'll post what we hear.  Otherwise...wow...what a weekend!!

On a different note, HUGE thanks to the San Mateo Harbor District crew who did an absolutely amazing job of keeping the roads clear for everyone to get into the harbor.  We all remember how it was in years past with trucks and trailers lined up all the way up and down Highway 1 trying just to get into the harbor, with cars having to enter through the exit lane to get into the parking lot and squeeze through the lineup of boaters waiting to launch.  They really did a remarkable job to make this one of the best experiences to get into the harbor on such a crazy day.  Thank you, guys!  Greatly appreciated!
