Sorry for the lack of reports as of late. We decided to make an out of the box move on this trip and we are happy we did. The move we made was to start out this trip going up to the Channel Islands to fish for white sea bass and shallow water rockfish. We caught white sea bass every morning of our time spent up at the Channel Islands with fish up to 50 plus pounds, had very good shallow water rockfish on the west end of San Miguel Island, made 4 tanks of live squid, and took off south after our morning bite yesterday. Last night we had an epic night bite on bluefin that were mostly 40 to 80 pounds with a couple of fish that may be around 100 pounds. It was limit style fishing with the 300 gram knife jigs being the hot ticket. Epic. We have today to try for more bluefin before we have to call it a trip. Thanks for checking in.
