Bluefin or Bust

Hi Gang,

Sorry for the lack of reports. This trip has been challenging with bad weather. Since my last report we fished San Clemente Island in Pyramid Cove for an entire day because of weather for very little fish. That night we looked for bluefin after the weather came down a little and did not locate any fish. The next day we were in search of mode and came up empty handed. So, late in the day yesterday we decided to give up on bluefin and headed southeast to try for yellowfin tuna today. That move worked out beautifully. We had nice weather and good fishing today. We ended up with our daily limits of 12 to 20 pound yellowfin tuna in just a few hours of fishing. It was biting. Everyone is stoked. Due to the weather that is headed our way tonight and tomorrow, we are cutting this trip short and getting in a day early. Everyone on board is supportive of this decision as the weather forecast for tomorrow does not give us any other option. We dodged weather, fished in weather, and adapted as needed this trip. With what we had to work with we had a great trip. Everyone is going home with a good amount of high quality fish. We just called it a trip and we are heading home. We have an 0530 ETA tomorrow. Thanks for checking in. Life is good, Captain Bill Cavanaugh and the Intrepid Team
