Soft Steel 15 Day Wrap Up

Hi Gang,

We finished the fishing portion of this trip yesterday and we are now traveling North in calm seas. Last nights dinner was flat iron steak served with grilled potatoes and thai chilli brussel sprouts that was again, amazing. We experienced on this trip what you want to see every time down on a long trip, a shot at big ones. Everyday except for maybe one or two, we had a real shot at big fish over 200 pounds. Our best day was 3 over 2 with one over 3. We had a few heartbreaking losses along the way as well. Lots of personal bests this trip. Rick Cha with his fish that tapped out at 313#, Ken Houser with one that tapped out at 235#, Michael Van Steenburgh from Texas ( on his first long rang trip) with one that tapped out at 230#, Al Murray with one that tapped out at 234#. We were able to scratch at mid grade fish as well that were mostly 70 to 160 pounds. The wahoo fishing was pretty good for a few days also and we put together a nice catch of skinnys.  All in all it was a great trip. Everyone is getting some well needed rest. We will check in tomorrow. Life is good, Captain Bill Cavanaugh and the Intrepid Team
