Today we ventured out to the Rocks with great expectations. Playing the long range boat driving chess game, we thought that we were lining ourselves up for a hit. The old adage of "you can't get a hit if you don't go to bat" came into play but unfortunately we fouled everything off.
We woke up to a beautiful sunrise and had perfect fishing current, and we started off with a bang as the first fish of the day was a 60lb tuna. We were licking our chops with anticipation for the upcoming wahoo troll. Unfortunately we never got a single strike as we circumnavigated the stones.
It was not a total loss as we had an enjoyable pick on school grade tuna and yellows. We stayed til midmorning before going offshore to look for kelps which never produced. We are continuing up the line to fish for yellows on the beach.
We included two pictures this evening to make up for days past. One is Greg and Nate (both missing their gals) with the reason why they were biting full speed in the galley.
The other is Dave Samarin (slava bohoo) with his first of two wahoo for the trip.
