Ranger 85 Sportfishing Fish Report 07-09-07

The Albacore continue to bite. This weekend wasn't quite as good as last weekend but we still caught quality fish. Afternoons have generally been a little better fishing than the mornings but we have picked up some fish before noon. When you're on a 1.5 day trip we'd rather catch that afternoon bite than hit them in the morning and just pick up a few stragglers the rest of the day.

Like other boats out there, we're finding a lot of fish. It's getting them to bite that is tough. Seems like when we find a nice school of fish we can get them up to the surface but they only bite for a short while before the bite stops and the fish head down. Makes it frustrating for the passengers and the crew.

Water and weather conditions remain favorable for the foreseeable future. We're heading into the new moon on Saturday so hopefully the bite will take off. They bit well on the last full moon, let's hope they bite on the new moon.
