The first Albacore of the season have been caught!! The Royal Star, fishing 90 miles from San Diego, boated the first Albies of the year. So far they have only registered in with three fish weighing 22 - 25 pounds but we have to start somewhere.

This may be a good sign. The Albacore are supposed to arrive around this time. Last year they came in April and were out of here by the end of June. Let's all hope we're looking at a more normal season.

Last weekend we were out on 1.5 day charter. We were only able to boat 13 Yellowtail and 2 Bonito. However, the weather was nice, the water looked good and we found a lot of kelp. All these signs should point to better fishing ahead.

We have several open party trips this month including 1.5, 2 and 2.5 day trips. This weekend is our first open party trip, June 8-10. This is a 2 day trip departing Friday night at 9pm. There are only 10 reservations so far. That's really not enough anglers to head out with but you can't catch fish if you don't go fishing. So, we're going fishing.
