Ranger 85 Fish Report

6-16-2014
Frank Ursitti - Ranger 85

Hi Anglers,

I wanted to give you the latest up to the minute report from the Ranger 85. June 16th, the bite rages on with most of the fleet scoring BIG. The Ranger 85 is on the first of a 2 Day trip and by 7am, has over 50 Seabass onboard!

As a result, we have added TWO ADDITIONAL TRIPS this week. How can we not? With a bite like this, we have to be in the mix!!!

The Ranger 85 will depart Wednesday, June 18 as well as Thursday June 19. Both trips depart at 10pm and will target White Seabass fishing the outer Channel Islands. This is where the action has been, and it's been VERY GOOD fishing. Don't delay in reserving your chance to get in on the action.

Scheduling is easy, contact our office @ 805 382 1612 for information and reservations.

Many anglers are inquiring about suggested tackle for these trips. Here's what we recommend:

Squid catchers for making bait.

Medium action rod and reel combo spooled with 25-30lb monofilament line rigged with an extended dropper loop.

Hooks 4/0 and 5/0 circle is highly recommended for the dropper loop. 3/0-4/0 standard live bait hooks are recommended for "fly lining".

Sinkers ranging from 6oz to 16oz torpedo, and 1/8oz to 3/4oz egg sinkers.

Fluorocarbon while not necessary, is not a bad idea.

(This morning the guys had lots of current, so stock up on your lead)

This has been one of the best seabass bites we have had in some time...don't sit on the sidelines while others are catching.

See you onboard,

Capt. Frank
