Fish Report for 06-10-2012

Kevin Osborne

Hi gang. We awoke this morning to a light marine layer and a calm ocean. After coffee and breakfast, Captain Kevin did an informative tackle seminar on what we can expect this afternoon and the days to follow fishing bluefin tuna offshore. As we continued south, we noticed how clean the water was all morning long. Much better water than what we saw this time last year. As soon as we got into the body of water we were looking for, we hit a spot of bluefin on the sonar. As we came around in the circle, fish stated boiling in the chum right away. It was good action for a short time and we landed a number of fish in the 20 pound range. We found three other schools before it got dark and, although we did not have one that bit wide open, we managed to stay busy and it was a great start to the trip. We are staying here for the night and will try at this bluefin tomorrow as we will have the entire day on the grounds. The weather continues to be nice and we enjoyed and amazing tri tip dinner tonight prepared by chef Patrick. The pictures attached are of our dinner last night as we watched the LA Kings hockey game in our beautiful galley, one of the bluefin caught today, and one of the three yellowfin we caught on our last stop of the day right at dark. We are all looking forward to tomorrow. "The Intrepid Team"
