Saltwater Fish Report for 8-7-2012
Schools of Yellows, Dorado & Tuna spell great fishing for the Ranger 85 & the Coral Sea
8-7-2012
Frank Ursitti - Ranger 85
Great fishing and good weather continue here in San Diego and the prospects look outstanding for this season to bust wide open. Schools of Bluefin remain spread over a broad area and as the water warms and pushes north kelp paddies are holding Yellows, Dorado and Tuna. As this trend continues scores remain on the uptick.
The quality and grade of the Bluefin and Yellowfin is something we only dream about in the 1-3 day range. These past few days have seen Yellowfin Tuna in the 40 lb class testing both angler and tackle to the limit.
Battling the larger Bluefin for an hour has been common place. Even the Yellows and Dorado are of excellent grade and challenge the fisherman no matter what their level of experience.
August, September and October promise to hold action offshore as the setup of water looks good. Don't miss out on some of the best grade fish we have seen short range in years.
2012 will go on the books as some of the most exciting fishing we have had with the incredible Seabass of spring and this developing offshore fishing for the summer.
We have a complete line up of trips from ULTRA LIMITED LOAD 1.5's on the Coral Sea to an expanded schedule of 1.5 to 3.5 DAY TRIPS aboard the Ranger 85.
We also have a 2.5 day ULTRA LIMITED LOAD trip on the Coral Sea departing this Friday, August 10 that has a light load. This trip includes permits, meals, and snacks.
Check out or websites at RANGER85.com and CoralSeaSportfishing.com We have charter availability as well for your group of anglers no matter what the size.
