So… this just happened !! As the Salmon fleet made their way out under the Golden Gate Bridge this morning, it quickly became apparent that the tide, currents, and a substantial size swell were against us. 
   The shallow sand bar outside the Bay entrance (sometimes called the “potato patch”) was creating breaking waves…. Often if we can get past that area, conditions out in deeper water can be quite nice, but today there was simply no passage through the channel, so all boats turned back.
   We gave our customers the option to switch over to halibut fishing inside SF Bay, and those who opted for that found a beautiful, flat calm fishing experience and some good action. Well over a fish per rod… 17 Halibut & 3 Striped Bass for our 13 people who opted to stick, stay, and make it pay. There will be more nice days coming and we’ll be back after the Silver Kings soon enough…
