First time Klamath fishers  Gary ( 1st retirement trip) and John and 11- year old Andrew (fist father an son drift boat trip ever) made some pre Christmas fishing memories,  holiday steely smiles are the best.

My guys the past two day took advantage of the gorgeous December bluesky fishing weather. The mornings were pretty cold 25 to 35 degrees but Mr Heater buddy kept the chill off. We back trolled icy rods with bait and plugs dipped in Pro-Cure garlic plus scen, the water is pretty cold now and the fish are sitting tight in the mornings so going slow is the key to getting bit.

Once the sun hit the water we mixed things up more. Gary caught fish on every method from bait to flies. He has always wanted to catch a steely On the flyrod and now he has. Father an son time on the was was nearly the same. Dad took big fish honors while side drift casting a Pro-Cure garlic dipped plug. This hen smashed that plug and put up a great drag ripping battle before taking a quick photo and being released.

Check out Gary's surprise salmon VIDEO he caught and released a good one
